Installation instructions

Ensuring a successful installation of a used engine is a complex process that demands strict adherence to established procedures and technical specifications.

Before initiating the installation process, comprehensive engine installation notes will be provided to the responsible mechanic. It is imperative that these instructions be diligently followed.

Our commitment to quality extends to a 6-month limited warranty for engines purchased from Orbi Motors UAB, contingent upon the engine being mounted in accordance with specified requirements. It is crucial to adhere to the engine replacement procedures and pre-startup work outlined by the manufacturer. Failure to do so may result in engine damage for which Orbi Motors UAB cannot be held liable.

Should you require assistance or guidance during the engine installation process, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Installation conditions

1. Preliminary check

Before installation, examine the engine for visible signs of damage that may have occurred during transportation. Notify Orbi Motors UAB at info@orbimotors.com if any damage is detected.

2. Component checks

Inspect and tighten all rubber joints as necessary. Rotate the engine manually to ensure smooth operation and identify any irregularities in sound or timing.

3. Replacement of parts

Prior to installation, replace the following components with new ones:

  • Engine oil
  • Air, oil, and fuel filters
  • Spark plugs (pre-heating spark plugs for diesel engines)
  • Engine timing belt/chain set
  • Fuel injector gaskets
  • All other gaskets used for connecting various components (turbos, compressors, inlet/outlet manifolds, fuel pump, etc.)
  • Oil cooler
  • Thermostat
  • All sensors related to oil circulation/pressure
  • Adjust engine ignition timing according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Gaskets for oil pan and head cover
4. Installation timing

The engine must be installed within 1 month of the delivery date.

Post-installation checks

Ignition timing and fluid levels

Recheck ignition timing. Verify engine oil and coolant levels.

Oil system maintenance

Change oil and oil filter after the first 100KM and after 500KM to remove debris introduced during installation.

Special attention

Replace the oil cooler before installation to prevent engine damage.

Prior to engine startup, use a manometer to ensure oil pressure reaches approximately 0.5 bar. Record this procedure on video (it is necessary for warranty) otherwise warranty is void.

Fuel supply and starting

Disconnect the fuel supply relay before starting the engine. Rotate the engine a few cycles to fill the oil filter with oil and reach correct (regarding manufacturer) oil pressure.

In the event of a warranty claim, the customer must provide evidence that the engine was installed according to these requirements. An invoice from a certified workshop or mechanic will be considered valid evidence.

Please note that this warranty does not cover other parts provided with the engine.
